Meet Our Tehama County K9 Officers Red Bluff Police Department K-9 Aries
K9 Aries
Red Bluff Police Department K-9 Aries and Sergeant Bowen
Aries is a German Shepherd. He was brought to the Red Bluff Police Department in September of 2016 and was originally teamed up with Officer Talley. Sergeant Bowen, at the time, worked as an agitator for the K-9 Unit. He assisted in the training of both Many and Aries. When Sergeant Talley left the agency, it was then that Sergeant Bowen was selected to be the next handler of Aries. Since they were familiar with one another from prior training's the transition was pretty smooth in the beginning. Although the transition went well, Sergeant Bowen says that Aries was probably a little frustrated at times since he already knew his job, but was always patient as Sergeant Bowen was still learning his role as a handler. Aries loves his Bowen family and enjoys being outside and sleeping in his kennel. If you have passed Sergeant Bowen and K-9 Aries' vehicle you may have noticed the barking and shaking as he spins around inside when someone passes the vehicle. Sergeant Bowen said it is like a Tasmanian devil inside trying to get out. He is a happy boy though when he is outside meeting the community. Both of RBPD’s K9s are certified in criminal apprehension and narcotics detection.
